Broke out my vintage long lens and strobe for some moody portraits.

“Portrait” has become a slightly dirty word because it can (not always) lacks movement and candidness. I’m about movement and spontaneity as much as the next person, but what if we allow some of our images to be quiet and still?

We got so many cute action shots from this beautiful session with Emma and Parker, but I love this handful of portraits that remind me that calm, quiet, and peace in a loving relationship are meant to be cherished 🖤

As a Michigander in Charlotte for 17 years, I’ve never seen a southern snow like this.

I’m notoriously a grinch about snow. I had enough in my childhood 😅 but watching it fall and having my Tzus hopping and playing in the snow, it thawed my heart just a smidge.

The snow melts, and we get back to normal life. It was fun while it lasted 🖤

I started shooting at 15. 12 years down. In August, I’ll be entering my “teens.”

Looking forward to Abby and Chandler’s winter wedding to end my 2025 season.

Probably too early to reflect (I’ll save that for New Year’s Eve) but what a joy it is to serve my couples. Just like any other profession, I’ve had to work when things in my life weren’t so good. When an alpaca is your officiant 😂

KIDDING. Long story short, I saw these alpacas (thought they were llamas) on my way into the venue and from that moment on I HAD to get pics of them. Thankfully, when I sprung the idea onto Mark and Alexis they trusted me and let me do my thing.

Kim drove us down and Mack was the alpaca whisperer. I yelled (nicely) at them to kiss and huzzah! A hilarious but also super dope shot 😎

Two lessons: you gotta click with your photog and love their personality and (2) that will help you trust and love their shared vision 🙏🏼

After the busiest season, I have a nice lull before winter to get all of my beautiful wedding albums edited and delivered ♥️ Could I use AI? Sure, but I love being able to say that I looked through each image and every edit, and had my hand on the whole process. It’s what makes it special, for me at least :)
